When a priceless manuscript disappears from the Biblioteca Marciana on the final night of Carnival, you’re summoned to uncover the truth hidden beneath Venice’s masks. Follow a trail of letters, fragments, and carefully placed clues through libraries, workshops, opera houses, and clocktowers as the city quietly holds its breath.
Each puzzle unlocks a new chapter of the investigation, revealing suspects, secrets, and motives woven into the very fabric of Venice. Solve them all, crack the final code, and decide the fate of a manuscript that was never meant to be found.

Each puzzle’s solution points you to a numbered envelope. If the answer’s correct, you can open it and continue your adventure. If not, try again — the mystery won’t reveal itself so easily!

What's the story of the game?

You arrive in Venice expecting colour, music, and celebration, but the city feels strangely hollow. Carnival masks still hang in shop windows, yet the streets are quiet, the doors sealed, the lights dimmed.
On the final night of the festivities, a priceless manuscript vanished from the Biblioteca Marciana. The letter that summoned you speaks of fragments left behind on purpose, of a thief who moved with intention, not haste.
Your investigation pulls you through shadowed libraries, glassmakers’ workshops, antique shops, opera houses, and clocktowers, each location guarding a piece of the truth. Every puzzle you solve reveals another layer of deception beneath the masks.
But someone is watching. And the final code was never meant to be easy.
Recover the manuscript, uncover the truth behind the heist, and decide what secrets Venice is willing to keep hidden.

The Venice Heist is rated medium to hard difficulty. It’s ideal for adults and older teens who enjoy logic puzzles, careful reading, and deduction. Each puzzle includes a hint system and full solutions, allowing less experienced players to receive guidance while keeping the challenge rewarding.

Setup usually takes around 30 minutes. If you choose to assemble and use the included printable envelopes, setup can take up to 60 minutes. For a quicker setup and less printing, many players replace the printable envelopes with regular envelopes.
Gameplay lasts approximately 60–90 minutes, with all seven puzzles forming a complete investigation from start to finish.

You only need a printer, paper, and scissors to play. If you choose to assemble the included printable envelopes, you’ll also need glue or tape. All story cards, puzzles, clues, and instructions are included in the downloadable files.
