I had so many question about the right game to pick to play with my 12 and 15 year old (who are really good at Escape Games). The seller walked me through each of the games I was wondering about and helped me land on this one. It was so much fun! Watching my 12-year-old’s eyes light up with the baking puzzle and the nutcracker puzzle was priceless! There were some incredibly unique puzzles in this set, and the artwork is gorgeous! After finding so many AI-run escape the room games on Etsy and becoming disenchanted, I was so excited when I found this seller. It was a bit pricey, but I printed it all at the library with my weekly color-print allotment, which helped save on cost. I made sure to start cutting things out a few days in advance, because the assembly is time consuming, bus so much fun with a cup of coffee and music!
The graphics don’t print up as vibrant as they show. While it is a fun game, the clues don’t fit inside the envelopes you are supposed to make. I would recommend NOT sealing the DIY envelopes and stapling the edges instead. If you seal the edges, it makes it too difficult to open the envelope since you have to stuff the clues/contents of each envelope inside. The game finishes on a flat note…..nothing exciting happens (no QR code to scan on your phone to “unlock” the lock, etc), you simply open another envelope and if you got it right, there is a small unassuming certificate that says, “yeah, you did it (per say)”……kind of a downer for all of the work. It’s a LOT of cutting & game pieces (clues) are all different sizes, shapes, etc. I would also recommend printing out on a heavier paper or card-stock so your clues don’t curl.

I’d like to clarify a few important points for future customers who might read this.
Print quality:
The graphics in our product photos are not digital mockups or enhanced renders. They are printed on a real home printer using the exact files customers receive. Thousands of customers have printed and played this same game with excellent results. Print vibrancy depends heavily on printer settings, ink levels, paper type, and printer model. For consistently perfect results, many customers choose to use a local or online printing service, which we always recommend as an option.
Envelopes & contents:
The envelopes are designed to be folded paper envelopes, not sealed shut permanently. Folding the contents (as they are paper clues) is completely normal and intended. That said, customers are always free to use regular envelopes instead. This flexibility is part of the DIY nature of printable escape rooms.
No internet / QR code ending:
This game is intentionally 100% offline and self-guided. While we do have many games that use the internet and QR codes (including several Christmas titles), the overwhelming feedback (especially for holiday and family gatherings) is that people do not want to be on their phones. They want to sit together at the table and play. That design choice is very deliberate, and it’s one reason this game has been enjoyed by tens of thousands of players worldwide.
The ending:
Every puzzle and physical element in the game is tied to the story, which concludes with a narrative resolution and a personalized detective certificate. Many families enjoy adding a photo and keeping it as a souvenir. Whether that style of ending resonates is, of course, subjective. But the story does have a clear resolution where the players become the heroes.
Cutting & assembly:
Printable escape rooms do require cutting and assembly. What you see in the product photos is exactly what the game contains—no more, no less. The materials don’t assemble themselves, and we’re very transparent about that so customers can make an informed choice before purchasing.

This was a fun activity for family at Christmas. We enjoyed solving the puzzles and we didn’t need to open any of the hints.

We had such a good time. It took a while to get everything sorted out - mainly because I made three sets of everything and that made it complicated. We played the game with two teams of 3 adults each. The puzzles were challenging - not too easy - which made it better for the players. Took about an hour of play and everyone really enjoyed it. Everyone said they wanted to do it again. We can’t wait to do another one!!
We did this at a New Year's Eve party and had 4 teams racing. Most of the people had a blast and want to do another next year. It took 35-50 minutes to finish depending on the team. Instead of printing the envelopes, I just printed the numbers needed on sheets of paper and folded them with a small overlap on the back (see pic). Using a paper slicer to cut all the straight edges made cutting 4 sets go much faster but overall it took several hours to print, cut and organize all the sets. Totally worth it though!
Our family is SUPER competitive. This was a great blend of difficulty levels for multiple ages. We had ages 5-40 on a team and it kept everyone engaged. The storyline was fantastic and the graphics are beautiful. This was so much fun the whole group agreed - We now have a new Christmas tradition. Escape rooms!
It was great! We printed two sets and had two teams to see who can get out of their room the fastest. The ages range from 7year old to 23 year old. It was so fun!
My children (all adults and married) look forward to the challenges I find for them on holidays. Escape rooms have become a tradition. The more challenging the better. This one they needed the clues. I removed the answer on the clue folds to make them work for it. Next time I will give just one clue at a time, not the whole thing in the envelope. Everything printed beautifully and they really liked the way it presented itself. Look forward to our next challenge.

Every Christmas we do an Escape Room. This year's was a favorite!
I used this as a game for our family Christmas party and it went well. Though some of the puzzles seemed quite easy to solve, others were challenging and we enjoyed playing it.
Did these for a Christmas party. The age range was 7 years old to 23 years old. They all loved it. I printed two sets and did two teams to do a “race” one team used three hints, the other did not and it was very fun.
Used with family over the holidays! Easy to figure out directions and we all had a great time.

This game is quick and easy to download, really well thought-out and a lot of fun. We set up two teams on Christmas and played for prizes. Would buy another game for another time. It was almost as much fun cutting out and assembling the packages.

I printed out most of the items on card stock except for the envelopes and the domino letter. Very cool and creative! We all had fun solve the puzzles. My kids are 12 and 14 and they were into it. We got stuck for a bit on the runes one, but figured it out and the rest of the puzzles without needing the hits. Recommend!
