The House Puzzle
Getting startedDoesn't count
Begin by arranging the five residents using the neighborhood description.
Hint 1
Next, match each of the five houses to its resident. Compare the shapes of each resident’s glasses with the shapes of the windows on the houses.

Hint 2
Once all five houses are matched and in order, place them on their spots. Each doorway reveals a letter.
Hint 3
In order, they are Mr. Hawthorn, Mrs. Maplewood, Mrs. Amberley, Mr. Rowan and Mrs. Briarwood.
Hint 4
Read the five revealed letters from left to right to uncover the five-letter answer.
SolutionSpoiler
The House word is OCHRE.

The Apple Puzzle
Getting startedDoesn't count
Begin by assembling the two disks to form the cipher wheel.
Hint 1
Read the drink recipes in order. Each recipe describes two parts of a drink and hides an animal name, spelled out by the highlighted red letters.
Hint 2
For each recipe, match the two drink parts on the cipher wheel. Then find the tree for the animal hidden in that recipe and count the apples growing on it.
Hint 3
Use the number of apples to find the matching letter on the cipher wheel. Repeat for all five recipes and read the letters in order to uncover the five-letter answer.
Hint 4: First letter

Hint 5: Second letter

Hint 6: Third letter

Hint 7: Fourth letter

Hint 8: Fifth letter

SolutionSpoiler
The Apple word is BRISK.
The Pumpkin Puzzle
Getting startedDoesn't count
Begin by putting the four pie cards in time order, matching the time symbol under each pie with the clock.

Hint 1
With the cards in order, look at the story section on the map. It shows a sequence of five symbols, each standing for one letter of the answer.
Hint 2
For each symbol, follow its chocolate chip across the four pie cards and note the arrow under it at each stage. The chip covers the arrow in its current position, so compare the other photos to work out which arrow is hidden beneath it.
Hint 3
Once you have the four arrows for each of the five symbols, use the cross-stitch grid. Start at the central START square and follow the four directions in order.
Hint 4
Repeat for all five symbols to reveal the five letters of the answer.
SolutionSpoiler
The Pumpkin word is PLAID.
The Candle Puzzle
Getting startedDoesn't count
Begin by finding the letters hidden on the candle labels. Each shape matches the outline of a letter on the letter grid, so you can translate the labels.

Hint 1
Once all the labels are translated, arrange the candles so each neighboring pair shares one ingredient.
Hint 2
With the candles in the right order, they form a chain of six ingredients. Find these six ingredients on the leaf strips and arrange them in the same order to reveal the five-letter answer.

SolutionSpoiler
The Candle word is CLOVE.
