Why we're obsessed with DIY Escape Rooms
We started making escape rooms for each other to play at home, and now we've designed over 100!
Before MysteryLocks was even an idea, we discovered escape room games in all possible formats. When we ran out of games to play, we started creating our own.
Solving escape room puzzles using things we found around the house, we had hours of fun! So we want you to feel the same thrill without leaving your home.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have locks, chests, and props on hand. Can I integrate them into the experience?
That's definitely possible! Our printable escape rooms are designed to be flexible and easy to adapt to your needs. If you have locks, chests, and props on hand, you can absolutely integrate them into the experience. For example, you could use numeric locks for the games whose answers are digits, or padlocks if you want to check the answers manually and hand the keys to the players. You can also add your own props to enhance the atmosphere and immersion of the game. Just keep in mind that the games are designed to be self-contained, so you don't need any additional props or equipment to play. But if you have them, you can certainly use them to make the game more fun and exciting!

I never played a real Escape Room. Will I be able to play?
Absolutely! You don't need any prior experience to play our printable escape rooms. Each game includes instructions and answer sheets, and they all have an intuitive flow that guides you through the experience. Just print out the materials, grab some friends or family, and you'll be ready to play.
Does the game need to end after 60 minutes?
Unlike real-life escape rooms, printable escape rooms are not time-limited. You can take as long as you need to complete the game, and you can pause or stop playing whenever you like. This means you can play at your own pace, take breaks if you need to, and come back to the game whenever you're ready.
Of course, the experience of playing a printable escape room is different from that of a physical escape room, but they can be just as fun and challenging in their own way.
